  1. I use Eufy products because some of it’s products are Apple Homekit compatible. Stopped using Ring because Eufy with Homekit + iCloud subscription is a great save.

I hope you never make bad enemies cause internet door locks are 0% secure.
the security cameras are a good idea though

  3. Can you do a detailed review on the Philips Hue ecosystem with suggested use cases for different lighting etc etc?

  4. Please update for this year

  5. @Burritosarebetterthantacos October 13, 2024 at 5:08 pm

The Nest thermostats are pretty terrible. They still use internal batteries even though they are hardwired and as the batteries fail so will your hvac. I’ve seen many houses with feeezing pipes because the Nest failed without warning, including my own. My Dad owned an HVAC company and refused to use Nest because of my research. The engineers at Nest even told me it’s not ideal.

  6. You need something like Control4 or even HomeAssistant.

  7. @GreenOnionBrother October 13, 2024 at 5:08 pm

The answer is none of these companies. It’s Home Assistant!

  8. Electric hummer in the background there!

  9. Slowly moving away from the inconsistency of Phillips Hue and moving to Lutron smart switches with regular LED’s and DMF lighting. Couple that with HomeKit and Home Assistant and it’s a pretty stable system.

  10. My entire house is running Google Home as well. I literally ran out of wall plugs and had to use power strips to connect all my gadgets 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  11. Can we get a 2024 update please

  12. Not sure what I am doing wrong but I cannot even get close to 900 mbps speeds. Even though I have a 1000/1000 fiber connection and a wired mesh network 😅

  13. Bro, get the smart light switches instead of bulbs. The bulbs are extremely glitchy and on occasion (year or so) they can all just go off and then you will have to do the whole set up. Switches are much more reliable and you don’t have to worry about getting over priced bulbs. The only downside is that you won’t be able to change light bulb colors.

  14. not sure i’d go all-in on a google setup lol. they have a track record of discontinuing EVERYTHING

  15. We need another one with Thread devices! Also, look into Inovelli smart switches

  16. Any good ideas for smart monitoring water tanks?

  17. i’m sorry but nest wifi is absolute dogshit. i got it and i will search for a more reliable option

  18. I agree on everything but having google branded home tech.

  19. We need more videos like this!

  20. @mkbhd which smart switch did you end up going with?

The only brand/type I found that worked the way I wanted was the GE Cync line of switches. They tied in well with the Google Home ecosystem, but I’m assuming they wouldn’t control a separate HUE light.

  21. My battery lasts like two months at my apt complex. That’s with people constantly walking by

  22. The Orbi are genuinely terrible! I had them and sold them off to use my ISP supplied router lol who wants a subscription for their WiFi lol

  23. @jayeshdewangan4849 October 13, 2024 at 5:25 pm

I’ll ask mkbhd to do this in apple ecosystem and I’ll buy every fucking thing from that.

  24. @chriserickson4417 October 13, 2024 at 5:26 pm

Very cool. You have some great ideas. Thank you for the video/info.

  25. 1000 dollars later? I live like the Jetsons y’all. No joke. My home is totally automated.

  26. Can you keep the video format this way for every video. The way it perfectly fits my screen is amazing

  27. I have a normal switch in my bathroom that turns on both light and fan, does anyone know if there’s smart solution to just be able to turn fan on? At night when showering i turn on a dim lamp instead to keep my circadian rythm in check.

  28. @emmanuelmakasa6555 October 13, 2024 at 5:28 pm

    Really informative

  29. Update!?!

  30. Most smart home technology is expensive and solves problems that aren’t really problems. Closing the blinds manually in (for most people) a very small house just isn’t a big deal 😀😀

  31. tbh the idea of having an internte connected smart lock, weirds me out

  32. Google? No thanks

  33. I’m surprised he isn’t using z-wave.

  34. @TonyZamboni-tp7yy October 13, 2024 at 5:35 pm

yo bro same satelite of orbi!!!

  35. I use to respect you until I say your thermostat temperatures 😱

  36. HI Marques! Hope this video gets an update. I am currently building my smart home too and using Google’s.

  37. Nest Learning Thermostat can’t even do “hold” temperature setting. 👎

  38. Want solar power review!!!!!!

  39. Box Office of this movie had to of been $950,000,000,000,000

  40. You should try a mmWave sensor. It makes smart lighting so magical. Lights come on wherever you are without you having to say or do anything. And can tell if someone falls in the room or is just asleep on the couch. Very cool tech for smarthome. Downside, They are wired which means hiding cables on the wall for the best person detection. If you can install in the ceiling and hide the wire it’s better. Also, having a combination of PIR and mmWave is better from my tests. Cheers

  41. Mann you rich . Big up mkbhd

  42. *Starts The Video*
    *Pauses the video*
*Walks across the room to the google nest*
    *Turns the Nest’s Mic Off*
    *Sits back down*
    *Hits Play*

  43. One year later, offer still stands dude. Would love to take you through a home with a full automation system.

  44. @emmanuelolulana8591 October 13, 2024 at 5:51 pm

Is there an updated video? I really want to see how it looks like now😮

  45. Figured this had to be a paid sponsored video cause Google’s eco system is pure trash and you would only give it praises if they were paying you.

  46. 1080p video is awful looking.

  47. Need to check out Vivint smart home, best equipment all designed and manufactured in house at Vivint.

  48. But now im real interested in what golf clubs you use…

  49. Black lives matters

  50. So I’ve looked but haven’t come across anything, but has he done a recent video on the best smart lock for 2024? Does anyone have any recommendations on something reliable?
